The
Clinical Neuropsychologist has a new article on the problems in detecting feigned mental retardation. That issue is getting more attention these days in the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in
Atkins v. Virginia, outlawing the execution of mentally retarded defendants. The British Psychological Society's
Research Digest blog has more on the study, which is entitled "Identification of feigned mental retardation using the new generation of malingering detection instruments: Preliminary findings."
